Koh Si Bo Ya, the Rich Rocky Island |
Location: Ban Lang Koh, Ban Si Bo Ya, Ban Khlong Toh, Tambon Si Bo Ya, Amphoe Neua Khlong, Krabi. Located close to Koh Jam, Koh Si Bo Ya is an island with rocky mountains and rubber tree farms.
There are three fisherman villages and two lovely beaches in the east and the west of the island. However, the island has only one resort, Si Bo Ya Resort, located in the west.
Travelers who come to this island could explore the beaches and visit the three villages to see local people’s lifestyle. If you have chosen to spend the night at Koh Jam, which offers more choices of accommodations, Koh Si Bo Ya is an interesting nearby island that is worth a visit.
Haad Laem Son is a beach in the north of Koh Si Bo Ya. The brown sand might not be very inviting for swimmers, but this beach is good enough for making a stroll and watching sunset.
The estern side of Koh Si Bo Ya is a rich mangrove forest, so it is very great spot for sea fishing.
A vas grassy field in the middle of the island could be seen along the way from Haad Khlong Toh to Haad Laem Son. Further inside from the beach is a flat area where the village is set well as agricultural activities like cultivating and animal keeping.
Haad Khlong Toh, also called Laem Pi Pi, is the beach in the west of the island where a village called Ban Khlong Toh is situated. This very long brown sandy beach is exceptionally wide during the low tide.
Keeping rubber farms is one of the most common occupations at Koh Si bo Ya. And after finished getting resin from rubber trees at down, most of the locals will be busy producing rubber sheets and netting crabs in the afternoon |
