Nai Han Beach
Location: Southernmost of the island about 18 kilometers from the city.
How to get there: From Laem Phromthep up north along Highway 4233 passing the Power Station viewpoint for about 1 kilometer take a left turn at the junction and further for another 2 kilometers.
Sights:
Nai Han Beach bordered by hill on both sides does not connect to any other beaches. It has become the land of peace, which, is still second to the very white, clean sandy beach that stretches long and empty.
The shades are from beach umbrellas. Standing in the middle of the beach looking out into the sea, ones will see two bays curving inwards to almost meet each other making a big sea pond that shields against the winds and waves becoming the community for yachts.
Nai Han Beach is good for swimming near the shore with deeper water offshore. At the end of the island is Phuket Yacht Club Hotel that provides accommodations for most guests who land their yachts in the bay.
Kata Beach
Location: About 17 kilometers away from Phuket town.
How to get there: From the city of Phuket, passing Chalong junction, turn left along Highway 4028.
Sights:
Kata Beach is regarded as one of Phuket’s top four islands with white, clean sand and nice-colored seawater, shady with coconut trees. It is composed of Kata Noi Beach and Kata Yai Beach.
This is the beach with not-too-deep water good for swimming no matter what age and sex, especially for families with children. Also available are tour activities such as diving at Koh Pu or playing banana boats and jet skies. In the evening at the rear of the island, seafood restaurants and shopping places are there to enjoy.
For accommodations, Kata Beach has many a peaceful and private resort worth staying for locals and foreigners, especially family groups.
Karon Beach
Location: About 3 kilometer further up north of Kata Bay.
How to get there: From Patong Beach along Highway 4233 passing Le Meridian Hotel down the hill for about 3.5 kilometers, and passing Nong Han by the beachside road for another 8 kilometers.
Sights:
Going up to the Sam Ao viewpoint, ones will see the three bays piling up in layers, with Koron Bay as the farthest looking like Kata Bay partitioned by hills but wider in area. The beach stretches long with high and low sandy hillocks in the north. The snad is white and clean good for swimming. The area is rather empty ideal for sunbathing. The beauty of this beach is also in the road by the beach with a clear view good for a walk in weak sunlight and slow wind.
Accommodations are of various styles ranging from guesthouses, bungalows to resorts moderate ones.
Patong Beach
Location: Amphoe Kathu 15 kilometers away from the town.
How to get there: From the city of Phuket along Highway 4020 passing two junctions Thai Nan and Ket Ho towards Amphoe Kathu. At the See Kor intersection, turn left into Highway 4029 for another 3.5 kilometers, passing Wat Suwankhiriwong to the junction and go straight along Phra Baramee Road for another 1 kilometer to Highway 4233 or Thaweewong Road, where Patong Beach is.(Thaweewong Road skirts Patong Beach on to Kalim Beach).
Sights:
The name Patong for tourists means liveliness and joys almost all days and nights. During the day, the beach that stretches as long as 9 kilometers is beautiful with white, clean sand ideal for swimming. The nice beach and a lot of sea activities and enjoy make it one of those with the largest number of visitors most foreigners, but many Thais also likes to go there. Along the beach line lie the beach chairs as its identity.
From evening till night, Patong Beach is colorful with fun from international restaurants, gift shops and entertainments, including the shows at Phuket Fantasia on Kamala Beach next to it.
