Go Fishing Around Koh Kang Kao |
 Location: 2 kilometers southeastward of Koh Si Chang, approximately 15 kilometers away from Siracha district.
How to get there: Hire a speedboat from Charin Port at Siracha, the price is 600 to 2,000 Baht, depending on the type of boat. From Koh Si chang, there are fishing boats and speedboats to Koh Kang Kao too.
The fare is approximately 800 Baht. Or you can simply buy the package from travel agencies, which will be much easier and even cheaper. Koh Kang Kao is a small island located in the southeast of Koh Si Chang.
The peaceful and shady atmosphere makes it a favorite island for many people.
This island might not sound very familiar to many tourists, although it is located only 2 kilometers away from Koh Si Chang.
In fact, Koh Kang Kao is a very quiet island. The beaches of this island are clean and nice for swimming, with some coral reefs for diving too. As for anglers, there are also many excellent fishing spots around this island.
There are two beaches at this island. The first is at the front of the island where the only resort on the island is located. The 800-meter-long sandy beach is clean and good for swimming, fishing, and squid fishing.
The second beach is located at the eastern end of the first beach. It is a rocky-sandy beach separated from the first beach by a rocky cape. It is a fantastic sunrise view spot, and from here you can clearly see Koh Si Chang too.
Walk along the front beach to the west, you will find a rocky cape which is the most favorite fishing spot of the island. Further from this cape is a green grassy field where you can see Koh Si Chang and watch sunset scenery very well.
 Over the cape is a walking path cutting uphill to Hin Tang, or standing rock, the outstanding landmark of Koh Kang Kao. From Hin Tang, continue to the western beach at the opposite side of the island.
At the back of this beach is a cliff that also gives wonderful scenery. However, tourists do not usually swim at this beach, since there is not facility here.
If you walk on a long the beach, you will finally find Koh Tai Ta Min, which is an islet with a lighthouse on it.
This area is the most remarkable diving spot of Koh Kang Kao. During the low tide, you can even walk to this islet. |
